WHAM! His swing couldn’t have been more perfect. His hips had started his swing giving him power so that the end of the bat hit the ball at basically the speed of sound. His front leg was straight and his eye was still watching the ball just as every batter wishes to be like at the end of a swing. The only reason I wasn’t enjoying it was because I was on the opposing team playing second base, and as if that weren’t enough, we were also in the bottom of the last inning with one out, the bases loaded and we were playing for the championship in Omaha, Nebraska and we were winning by only 3.
The ball came of the bat like a rocket and very fortunately it wasn’t a very high hit. Our shortstop dove for the ball with every ounce of energy he had and stopped the ball with the end of his glove. He then hopped up and quickly flipped the ball to me covering the bag for a double play! It was our team’s finest hour, we had won the championship!

This is really good. When you were talking about how the opposing team’s player was really good and you hated that I know what you mean. I was in a lacrosse game and the opposing team was REALLY good. I didn’t win the game, we lost by one, but I can still kinda feel what you’re describing.

Wow! You must have been really nervous! I have also been in a situation kind of like this. My baseball team, the Astros, was in the championship game and we were winning by 2 runs in the bottom of the last inning with one out. The batter on the opposing team hit a scorching ground ball to me at second base and I fielded it cleanly, flipped it to the shortstop covering second, and then he fired it to first and we won the game!
